I love etymology, make a mean peanut butter & jelly sandwich, and sometimes, when I'm feeling brave, I like to rock red lipstick. I am a University of Kansas alumna (I earned degrees in both Journalism and Germanic Languages & Literatures in May 2012), and a former au pair (I lived and worked in Eckernförde, Germany in 2011).
I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico; raised in Kansas City; and attended university in Lawrence, Kansas. I am currently in the throes of my fifth(!) year living in Germany.
I am in love with words and the power they hold—the effect they can have.
Being a writer—doing something every day that I am passionate about—is an incredible thing. And something I don't take for granted.
I spent four years working as a Senior Copywriter at TBWA\ in Hamburg, writing, concepting and creating for global brands like Procter & Gamble and Pfizer. In February 2019, I started as a Creative Strategist at leading digital agency SinnerSchrader where I am able to combine my love of writing and concepting to help form creative strategies that help tell the stories of the incredible products we develop.
Figuring out the strategy is nearly as fun as the writing itself. The science behind the way we communicate truly fascinates me.
I'm passionate about communication, connecting cultures, proper use of the Oxford comma, brilliant puns, ridiculous comedy, and living a full, invigorating life with integrity. And last but certainly not least, I am passionate about food (the eating part).
